About This Service

The Finish That Holds the Property Together

Mulch retains moisture, suppresses weeds, and gives the property a finished look year-round. Done right, it reduces the amount of hand-weeding a bed needs and keeps plantings from drying out during warm stretches.

We top-dress beds, define edges cleanly, and remove what doesn't belong — so the plantings get the attention they deserve, not the weeds around them.

What We Do

  • Mulch application and top-dressing
  • Bed edge definition
  • Weed removal before mulching
  • Debris and old mulch removal as needed

Where We Do This Work

Mulching & Bed Maintenance for homeowners in our core Camden County towns — and communities within a reasonable drive of where we're already working.

Common Questions

How much mulch do beds actually need?

Two to three inches total — including what's already there. More than that sheds water, suffocates roots, and wastes money. Top-dressing to the right total depth beats blanketing beds with a fresh three inches every year.

Do you pile mulch against tree trunks?

No — the mulch 'volcano' holds moisture against bark and slowly kills the tree. Done right, mulch forms a flat ring that stops short of the trunk with the root flare visible.

When is the best time to mulch in South Jersey?

Late spring after the soil warms, or a mid-fall top-up after clean-up to insulate roots through winter freeze-thaw. Mulching cold, wet soil in early spring locks the cold in.

What does bed maintenance include besides mulch?

Re-cutting the edges — which is most of what makes a bed read as finished — plus weeding and removing what doesn't belong so the plantings get the attention they deserve.
